I found out the hard way, that VMR doesn't keep its settings once you save and reopen a project. Slate's work but there is a huge exception. Waves works and soundtoys work, I don't have UAD or or fab filter so can't comment there. Can we use UAD, Waves, Soundtoys, Fabfilter plugins thru Mixbus? So you are saying you like Studio One? I didn't read through the whole thread, so maybe you are referring to someone who claimed PT sounded better. Listen with your ears, not to some marketing pencil neck.

I didn't buy S1 2 Pro because of their marketing hype, and I didn't buy Pro Tools because of their marketing hype. Having said ALL that, and recently purchased Studio One 2 and have used it on one tune so far in a room that I'm completely familiar with (my own) I can unequivocally say, it sounds the same through the same interface. I went on to engineer in some of the best studios in the world including where I worked on MCI 400, 500, 600, Neve 8068, 8058, V2, V3, VR, SSL 5000, 6000, 9000, all through MCI JH 24, Studer A800, A820, Sony 3324, 3348, and just about every monitor system you could think of. I'm also an old school guy in that I started in the recording business back when they still used 3 track Ampex 350's and recorded the soundtrack to The Shining on an M56 16 track. I started with an MBox2 Pro and 8.0 LE and ended up with what's in my sig. Well, I've been using Pro Tools for several years and have done at least 20 albums and a couple hundred productions with it.
